// Who Am I?

Asking “Who am I?” is never a simple question. I believe we are shaped by what we do every day and the environment we grew up in. At our core, we are all human, but what truly makes you unique are your daily habits, your choices, and how you see the world. You cannot change where your story began, just like a tree cannot change its roots, but you can always grow new branches and become better. My goal is not to copy other people or follow the crowd, but to become the best, most authentic version of myself.

For a long time, I thought I had to fit into one single box. The world often tells us that success means picking just one narrow field and doing only that. I spent years trying to force my dreams into one path, blaming myself whenever it felt restrictive. Over time, I realized something important: I am not just my job title, and I am not just a university degree. I am simply myself—my mind, my ideas, and the way I think.

// The Professional Reality

In my technical work, I balance two different worlds: .NET and Azure for large-scale enterprise systems, and modern full-stack web technologies like React, Node.js, and cloud tools for the software I love to build. Many developers pick one side and argue about which is better. I prefer to learn both and use whichever tool actually solves the problem best.

Beyond writing code, I believe real growth comes from creating things and staying resilient when challenges arise. Whether leading student engineering initiatives as Chair of the IEEE Computer Society or pushing through demanding internships, I have learned that building something meaningful takes patience and dedication. I don’t care about chasing fancy titles or rankings—I just love solving hard problems and seeing things through to the end.

// Why This Diary?

This page is not a highlight reel. My main portfolio shows “what” I build, but this diary is about “why” I build it. Here, you will find honest reflections, everyday lessons, and the ideas that keep me curious late at night.

Take a moment, grab a cup of tea or coffee, read through my notes, and get to know the person behind the screen. I’m Mahmoud—mostly.
